i was at all 3 nights of the chicago run and this night was definitly the highlight. the sugaree from the first set was nasty. i also enjoyed the jackie song mexican girl, a little somethin new never hurt anybody. the 2nd acoustic set was fun as always. and the 3rd set was just monster, just look at the setlist. jackie is a great addition to the band. i think this is the best show of the tour so far behind the 20th with trey. oh and Jsoon what RA site are you talking about?

Very good show. Jackie's growing on me, and Larry was really throwing down on this one. Phil and Molo, as always, solid as a rock. Molitz is sounding great too -- it seemed like he was kinda in the background on some of the other recordings.
But, I have to disagree with DrewIndy450, Let it Ride is definitely not better without Ryan. Sorry folks, I've heard comments like that repeatedly on here -- "Joan doing Bartering Lines is way better than the RA version" -- my ass! I like Phil's renditions of RA songs, but RA&TC play them (and sing them) WAY better than Phil does. Go grab a couple of the recent boards on the RA site to see what I mean. Don't base your opinion of him on a couple less than stellar gigs with Phil.

"I am sold on Phil for sure" - what I meant was that is I have been in Bobby camp for too long - and havent had an oportunity to see Phil since the Dead shows in 2004- because Phil does not tour as often to as easy acceable places for me then Bobby - long story short - I have no idea why the hell I have missed Phil so long- Phil rocks - peace

Before saturday night I wasn't sold on Jackie Greene, thought he could've been a flub in the ryan adams vein, boy was i wrong... the kid was ALL OVER IT! From front to back Sunday night was awesome! First set was great nice to hear candyman and sugaree, i like let it ride alot better without RA, acoustic set was sweeet, ripple, fotd, brokedown. Phil seems to be missing jer as of late (see birdsong from 10/6)Set 3 ripped from the word go, phil was dropping major bombs during too, gotta love the help triumvirate, slipknot was extremely trippy lovelight was great and nfa left the crowd chantin and stomp into the night

Am I glad I decided to sit in the balcony, not because I had a front row seat and not because it was like a sauna (heat rises; it had to be a 100 degrees up there!!). No--the sound was magificient!! And so was the band. It's one of the best Phil concerts I have listened to. Jackie Greene was amazing, especially with the Boz Skaggs' "Loan Me A Dime". All in all, a fantastic 3 night stand. Sorry I had to miss Sunday, but what an amazing run!! More memories of 40 years of Dead music--and still going strong!!!! And John Molo is one hell of a percussionist!!!
